Voice instruction preblems

Not sure if my location is important but I'm in UK. I'm using the navigation for voice instructions only (the screen on my phone is off while riding), because of this I can't confirm where the navigation think I'm when the problem happen. Based on the recorded routes it seems my GPS location is aways correct.

Problem 1  - wrong instructions to turn

There are times when I will be on the road (let say B4040) and I will hear instruction that after X yards I need to turn left/right on B4040. I will hear to "Turn left/right now" when I'm next to a turn. The problem with this is that I am already on B4040 and I should not turn at all. This has happened multiple times to me and now I'm trying to remember what road I'm, so I know I do not need to make a turn.

Problem 2 - no instructions to turn

There are other times where I should turn to leave the main road that I'm on but the navigation will not tell me so. From my experience this happen mostly on routes where the turn is almost strait forward, because the main road (that I'm on) is making a turn. The following is an example of this (if I remember correctly this has happened at least 2 time on this place).

I'm afraid this is a known problem, and one of the most important reasons why I'm switching to a new map and routing provider in Scenic 3. The current routing provider looks at angles between roads of a junction and road classifications. Based on those angles and classifications the routing engine determines to give a 'turn (slight) right' or no instruction (go straight) will be given. However in some areas road classifications are missing or incorrect in the map data and in those cases the engine only relies on the angles between the roads.

If you see the screen while navigating it's not such a big problem as that will tell you in a glance what way to take if voice instructions are not clear enough. However in your case, with phone in pocket, this can be a real problem indeed. Very sorry for the inconvenience. I'm working hard to get Scenic 3 ready asap, so this problem is resolved.
