Quote from adm07 on 28.12.2020, 13:09I noticed today, that the app was directing me to get off the highway, then follow the ramp to get back on, I’ve seen this glitch on other apps that have “avoid highway”. It just routes guy on and off the ramps.
Also, is there a way to make it skip a waypoint, if I’ve gone past it? It kept trying to make me turn around and go back even as I was pulling into the destination.

Quote from Guido on 28.12.2020, 13:55The on/offramp point will be resolved with Scenic 3. This usually happens when the current map provider classifies the roads wrong and possibly when you have the 'short' routing mode. Scenic 3 switches to a new map provider with more accurate map data.
If you'd like to skip a waypoint... tap the button to go to the 'big button menu'. In that menu there's a button to skip the next waypoint.

Quote from adm07 on 28.12.2020, 15:23Ok. That’s not super helpful, to have to fumble for menus while trying to drive. It literally told me to get off the road I was on, go back the way I came, then turn around again and backtrack. There isn’t a setting to bypass waypoints that are already behind you?

Quote from Guido on 28.12.2020, 15:44There's a reason for that... When you design a route by adding waypoints to it, Scenic assumes that you want to reach all waypoints (thus keeping the route as you designed it). Only once you reach a waypoint it "forgets" it. There are many reasons why one would miss a waypoint. E.g. accidentally you missed the lunch stop where you're meeting others or you took a wrong turn missing that amazing vista point that everyone told you about (in that case you would want to be guided back) E.g.2. You are running out of time and decided to take a shortcut, skipping a waypoint (in that case you would want to skip that waypoint). Scenic doesn't know why you missed a waypoint nor if it was on purpose or accidental. For me personally these reasons are mixed. Sometimes I want to be guided back and sometimes I don't. Therefor I made this a user action.
Having said that, there are some settings that will influence the default behaviour regarding this. Have a look at following settings:
Navigation & Tracking > Detour Behaviour
Navigation & Tracking > Via Point Pro mode
Navy Nerd Details > Skip Via/Stop as defaultFurthermore the big button menu has been especially designed for control with your gloves and shouldn't be much of a fumble. It's two taps.
Hope this helps/explains. If not or if you have other questions please let me know. Happy to help.
Best regards and ride safe,
Guido
