Wunderlinq / Scenic integration problems

Hello,

I like Scenic because it was the first GPS app to integrate with the BlackBoxEmbedded WunderLinq app.

Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to switch between WunderLinq and Scenic! I created a Shortcut to launch WunderLinq from the Menu within Scenic: however, as soon as I select it, Wunderlinq pops up and immediately re-launches Scenic!

The BBE guys say that it's an iOS problem.

Any ideas on how to be able to switch between the two apps without touching the screen?

iPhone XS, iOS 13.3.1, WunderLinq 1.0.6, Scenic 2.2.4

Hi Kraut,

The shortcuts you select from the navigation menu are configured to return to the Scenic app automatically once executed. (This is done with starting playlists or calling someone as shortcuts in mind). So I'm guessing that's what happening.

There is another way to open the WunderLINQ app from Scenic though. In Scenic Settings > Remote Control, you can configure actions to Wunderwheel movements. One of those actions is 'Open WunderLINQ App'. Could you give it a try like that?

Cheers,

Guido

Brilliant! That totally works!

I have never messed with those settings because there wasn't an "empty" Wunderwheel option left. But since I never use the "Previous Song" function, I set Wheel Left to "Play/Pause" and Left Long Press to "Open WunderLINQ". Now it behaves in a logical manner: from within the WunderLINQ app, a Right Long Press on Navigation opens Scenic and from within the Scenic app, a Left Long Press gets me back to the WunderLINQ app.

Love it, thank you, Guido!

Hi,

I was not able to manage voice instructions in combination of WunderLINQ and Scenic. Did you experience any problems there. Wich setup are you using (wich voice and which speaker)?

Best regards 🐸

Best regards ?

That’s strange. Are you sure the voice problems are related to WunderLINQ? Do you have voice when WunderLINQ is not connected?

Hi Guido,

First of all I have to admit not bring sure about it.

Might be due to Bluetooth connections. My helmet (Schuberth) is connected with my mobile and with my zumo. In case i want to navigate with the BMW connected app i have to Switch off the zumo otherwise I do not receive voice. (The zumo may stay in the cradle).
I am quite sure ist is not a problem with scenic nur with my personal set up. For this reason I am asking which setup is chosen by other WunderLINQ Users

Best regards ?

Ah... understand. I think I might have a solution actually. I'm currently working on another app update that changes Scenic Voice Output behaviour a bit. Once that update is released I think you will be able to use the 'as Phonecall (HFP)' option for Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Voice Output. And then you will not have to switch of the Zumo anymore (at least not when you want to navigate with Scenic). I'm hoping to have the version in the App Store by next week.

Another option you could try is to connect your phone to the Zumo (and not to the Schuberth). If I remember correctly the Zumo has an option for this. If that's possible the Zumo will be a 'bridge' between the phone and the Schuberth. I.e. all phone sounds will be relayed through the Zumo. (I am not 100% about this, but maybe someone else here has some experience with this??)

I had the same "problem" if you can call it that.

With the default WunderLINQ settings in the Scenic app, I found I could switch to the WunderLINQ app with a long left press of the BMW "wonderwheel", but then could not figure how to get back to Scenic.

What I did not understand was that you need to set the preferred navigation app in settings/integration of the WunderLINQ app to Scenic. Then, if you are in WunderLINQ and want to get back to Scenic, simply use short press left or right to get to the Navigation page, then up or down with the wheel to highlight (in red) either the map or home icon (if you have your home location set), then long right press on the wheel. This takes you back to Scenic.

App switching back and forth between Scenic and WunderLINQ all done with the wheel and without touching the screen! Easy!

Maybe this is all obvious, but to me it wasn't! Hope this helps someone.

BTW Guido, the Scenic app is great so far, you've really put thought into it.
