The reasons why the route can be different from the actually ride can be many, but usually can easily be corrected. Have a look here for tips & tricks: https://scenic.app/knowledge-base/strange-loops-while-importing/ (this is about importing, but most of these things also apply to creating a route from a ride).

Then the timing issue... that really sounds like a bug. Would really need to see the screenshot on that for me to investigate further.
