Scenic reroutes on round trips

You don't have a setting wrong... Scenic's current routing algorithm does not handle round trips well. As a workaround I split up the route in 2 parts, only loading the 2nd part one the midway point (the middle waypoint) has been reached. This however, doesn't work well in all circumstances as you've noticed.
