Different Routing Profiles

Fist of all.... I like the Scenic App! What a benefit!

I normally plan routes in the App itself and have the computer in parallel.

One question.... I am wondering If I can set different route profiles for different sequences of one route. For example I want to have a first ride on the motorway and have a stop then. The second sequence should be a nice curvy route and maybe the last one should me bring home again fast on the motorway.
I don't want to plan x different routes to have an idea of the total kilometers and the estimated time.

Is this possible and if yes, how would be the adjustments?

Thanks and have a good one... Alex

Hi Alex,

Unfortunately you can set only one routing mode/profile per route. This is a restriction from the routing provider that Scenic uses. Can't change that I'm afraid.

There is a workaround though.. not ideal, bit it will work in most scenarios... simply create a route (I'd recommend with Efficient routing mode) and then drop via points or stops  to force the route to take certain roads.

Not ideal, but might work for you.

Cheers, Guido

If you're enjoying Scenic and are happy with the support, please leave a nice rating in the App Store. It would mean a lot to me ❤️

Hello Alex

I'll make it so I put a few points on the highway. The points are exactly between the entrances and exits of the highway. This way the route planner is forced to drive right through them.

If you set the point somewhere on the motorway, it is possible that the navigation system will lead you off the motorway and back on the motorway again, because then you have already made a few curves.

One more tip: make sure that you choose the exact direction of the motorway, otherwise you may have to drive the route twice.

Try that out.

Hej Victor,

I will try this (once the Bavarians let us drive again 'cause of the Virus). As you wrote I set randomly the points on the motorway. Thank's for the hint!

Have nice rides and a good day.
