The only items I have changed in the settings menu that I am aware of are - selected hide route behind me, turned auto zoom to off and selected all the map elements to on.

I set it to less a few weeks ago and it was ok. Then a few days ago during a ride it started zooming out all on its own, so I set it to off however it did not stop it zooming out. After that I tried several of the other auto zoom settings to no avail.

seems like I have no option but to do a delete/ re-install?

OK. You can give the delete/re-install a try. It's pretty harmless. All you data is safe on the server and will be downloaded again when you login to Scenic again. (You have a Scenic account I assume? If you don't, create one before removing app).

I doubt it will help though. But you never know. If it does help could you please also let me know? It might help in my further analyses of this issue.

So after re-install of the app everything with regards to zooming is functioning correctly. Only change I have made in the settings so far is change the map style to “outdoor”. I will continue to make changes and monitor the app to see if the issue reappears.
