We are planning a drive from PlaNoPoco, which is located at the Weir’s Furniture parking lot in Plano Texas to Clark’s Outpost BBQ in Tioga, Texas. The drive should take about 2 hours. It will be closer to 2.5 hours if we want to do a photo stop at Lake Ray Roberts Marina in Isle Du Bois State Park so we can do a group photo with the water behind us.This is not a PCA sanctioned event event, but since it’s advertised on a PCA social media stream, everyone will need to complete a waiver at the starting point to participate. Michael Hays is working on getting a PCA insurance rider for the event. This is what to expect on the drive: Spans approximately 160 km, and you’ll be departing at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 10, 2025. The route emphasizes a string of iconic Texas FM roads: FM 2164, FM 455, FM 51, and FM 922—each offering a distinct personality in road quality, scenery, and driving experience. 🛣️ Route Overview by FM Road:🟡 FM 2164 (North of Denton) • Landscape: Rolling hills, ranch fencing, and patches of thick brush. You’ll pass small ponds, hayfields, and livestock. • Road Quality: Smooth, well-paved, with some elevation changes and wide shoulders. • Traffic: Light on Sundays, mostly locals or pickup trucks with trailers. • Driving Vibe: Underrated gem—gentle curves, light undulation, excellent visibility for group driving.🔵 FM 455 (from Greenbelt to Tioga) • Landscape: Highly scenic stretch with tree-canopied roads, glimpses of Lake Ray Roberts, and peaceful rural scenes. • Road Quality: Excellent condition with curves and swooping dips. • Traffic: Light to moderate on Sundays, especially near Lake Ray Roberts State Park. • Driving Vibe: This is a Porsche-favorite kind of road—good pavement, elevation play, and picturesque tight curves. • 🌟 Suggested Photo Stop Location: Pull-off near Isle du Bois Unit entrance (Ray Roberts Lake State Park). Why: Lake in the background, gentle trees, plenty of safe parking for a lineup photo.🟥 FM 51...
