{"id":4390,"date":"2020-12-07T11:57:21","date_gmt":"2020-12-07T17:57:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/scenicapp.space\/blog\/?p=4390"},"modified":"2020-12-10T14:32:27","modified_gmt":"2020-12-10T20:32:27","slug":"the-revival-of-a-great-british-motorcycle-brand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scenicapp.space\/blog\/the-revival-of-a-great-british-motorcycle-brand\/","title":{"rendered":"The revival of a great British motorcycle brand"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>BSA was once the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world, producing the Gold Star, Bantam and the Super rocket, but its success didn\u2019t last, and the company went effectively bankrupt in 1972 after which it was taken over by the Norton Villiers Triumph consortium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But after almost 50 years, the iconic Birmingham brand is about to be revived by Indian billionaire Anand Mahindra, who hopes to &#8220;resurrect the British motorbike industry&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"211\" height=\"275\" src=\"https:\/\/scenicapp.space\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/bsa1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4391\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Mahindra has big plans to electrify the brand and start building fully electric motorbikes along with combustion engine models by the end of 2021. Mahindra\u2019s plan is backed by the UK government, which awarded the new BSA company a GBP 4.6 million ($6.1 million) grant to develop electric motorcycles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"290\" height=\"363\" src=\"https:\/\/scenicapp.space\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/bsa2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4392\" srcset=\"https:\/\/scenicapp.space\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/bsa2.jpg 290w, https:\/\/scenicapp.space\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/bsa2-240x300.jpg 240w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 290px) 100vw, 290px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>New BSA isn\u2019t the first vintage motorcycle project for Mahindra, who successfully revived the Czechslovakian Jawa brand in 2018.
