While not everybody will be cheering when they read this, it is a memorable moment. Harley Davidson announces it will launch an e-bike in 2021. It is called the Serial 1 and no price information is released yet. The news is no surprise as Harley Davidson already entered the market for children\u2019s electric bikes through their newly acquired Californian company StaCyc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This good looking new e-bike takes its name from \u201cSerial Number One,\u201d the nickname for Harley\u2019s oldest motorcycle which was produced at the beginning of the last century. A lot has happened since then. E.g. in June I wrote about its stunning Breakout model as you can read here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the beginning of this century the global e-bike market has grown a lot and was worth more than $US15 billion in 2019. It is projected to grow at an annual rate of more than 6% from 2020 to 2025. No wonder Harley Davidson wants a piece of the cake and my prediction is they will do so successfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
