The 13-mile (21 km) long pass on National Route 1A is one of the most iconic roads in the world, with hairpin turns along lush jungles, the sea on one side and the rest of Vietnam on the other. It connected the north and south of Vietnam through the neighboring countries of Laos and Cambodia.
