Will there be an Android version in the future?

Good day,

I just started using scenic and think it’s way better than all of the competition!

When do you think there will be a supported android version? As I’d love to use it on my phone! And share to all my buddies that don’t use apple.

I only use an Android phone. I do have an iPad. If I subscribe to the lifetime maps now, will that transfer to Android when it is available?

Yes. All purchases you do here will be available in the Android version too. They will be linked to your Scenic account. Please note that Premium does not include the offline maps though. More info on that here: https://scenic.app/help/paid-features-and-prices/

Zolang ik Scenic gebruik laat ik iedereen die het horen wil weten hoe enthousiast ik erover ben. Mijn Android-kennissen heb ik twee jaar geleden al een android-versie aangekondigd. Nu die keer op keer wordt uitgesteld - voorjaar 2022 weer geen release - haken ze langzaam af. "Dat wordt toch nooit wat." En ik kan ze geen ongelijk geven. Zeker na de release van de laatste versie 3.0.1. Wat was er mis met de vorige versie en dat superhandige wiel? Voor mij niks. Dit is veel onnatuurlijker. Ik ben teleurgesteld. En met mij mijn android-kennissen. Mijn geloofwaardigheid begint een flinke deuk op te lopen. Laat wat goed is bestaan, want dat was veel. Heb oog voor potentiëel nieuwe gebruikers.

Hi Guido, long-time user of Scenic on iPhone and I just switched to Android and am missing Scenic greatly. Any updates on availability on that platform?

Hi Guido,

Thanks for the response. So '... planned to be released end this year / early next year' is to say end of 2022 or early 2023? Or was that note put up last year and we can hope to see Scenic for Android most anytime? (There's no 'last updated' date on that page.)

Bummer, I was hoping to continue a project using the Scenic API (https://github.com/guidove/ScenicAPI) but no longer have my iPhone to test my results in Scenic. Oh well, I'll tread water until it's out for Android. Thanks.
