Scenic navigation keeps rerouting my created routes

not sure if it's connected to this problem but I also think there is an improvement to be made in the routing algorithm.
Let's say I am on a relatively "main" road, in the route creation the apps want me to get out of it then back in after 1 or 2 km and I end up passing inside somebody's house :).
I've tried to change the various heuristics like Fast, Effective and so on and it seems it like to do that quite a lot. This is happening both in Italy and in Greece. It's kind of frustrating since the 2/3 km detours are kind of meaningless.
Not sure if there is even a thing, but the algorithm should not leave a road for then coming back to it (unless there is a via point) within some X (10?) km.
Not sure if it makes sense.
I've made a route on the fly and captured a couple of these things. Usually, I go manually to all these detours and put a via on the right side. in light color is the "would like to be" route.

This is a little bit related to the problem on this forum topic, but not entirely. These 'detours' are due to bad map data. Specifically, road categories being wrong or missing. In essence the map provider categories the main road the same as the detour road (or both are not categorised) (or worse, the detour road as a higher speed category road) resulting in these wrong detours. This is one of the most important reasons why I'm switching to another map provider in Scenic 3. The testing I've done so far have given excellent results so I'm hoping this problem will be almost completely gone with Scenic 3.

I am having a lot of problems with scenic trying to divert me off course. On Wednesday I planned a route from Mukilteo to Maple Valley. Most of this was down I405. Scenic kept telling me to get off at several off ramps to get on I405 which I was already on. The return trip it routed me off I405 to the kitsap pennsula way out of my way.

It sounds like it could be a mapping issue. When you planned the route, was it fine? Only during navigation is when it starts rerouting you?
It was such a simple route that I didn't check the routing.

You shouldn't have to of course. I'll report to the map provider. In any case this will be resolved in Scenic 3 with the new map provider.
It's great to hear that the routing will improve with changing the map provider in the near future. I experienced this re-routing myself on my last trip where I was driving on a main road and from out of nowhere the app said that it wants a re-calculate the route for no reson. Also, the routing advices are not very helpful sometimes. I had it several times that the voice told me to "make a light left turn" when I needed to only follow the main road and there was no way to make a left turn. I hope this all will improve 🙂

Yes, fully understand. These two things will definitely be addressed with the new map- & routing provider, which for now, Inwill keep to myself 🙂.
