Does New Map Provider Mean Buying Maps Again?

Hi Guido, I’m new to Scenic and very happy to have found it. I’m anxious for Version 3 features, and have two friends waiting for that Android app. (Trying to talk them into being Beta testers.)

But I’ve heard you say that you’re changing map providers. Being new to Scenic and not nearly spendthrifty enough, I just bought 162 map downloads. Will I be tossing those out and buying half the world again?

 

 

All purchases you did in the past will be valid for the future, even with change to a new map provider. With updates (even big ones like Scenic 2 and Scenic 3) you’ll keep your purchases. You’ll never get less for the money you spent on Scenic. If applicable, only the same or more. This also goes for purchases offline map regions and premium.

Having had a day to parse, let me try this again.

When you switch to a new map provider, do our purchased maps simply update? If so, I’ll keep buying maps.

Or if we want to get better map service too, will we need to buy our maps again? If so, I’ll stop buying maps until then.

 

Let me try to be absolutely clear this time. I am not going to rip you of!

I hate it when I purchase something and then I need to purchase something again that I already bought, just because an update appears.

I don’t want to- and am not going to do that to my users. This is not a scheme to get more money from my users, but simply to get a better quality app with better quality data to you guys, for the same price that you already paid.

You will be able to download the regions you already purchased, for free, from the new map provider.

 

I hope now there is no more room for doubt? 🙂
