Create route from recorded ride

Hello

I recorded a ride recently using Scenic and when I went to Create Route From Ride option the new route is off course from what I had originally rode.

As you can see in one image with the green “tracks” shows the route I rode

The only turn that I did was to go South after going East

The other image is route that got created

The circled section area is where this newly created route deviated from what I rode

Between points 1 & 2 the route has me going a different direction than what I rode

As you can see the blue tracks shows my route

I even tried exporting the ride I recorded to GPX and then importing it and it did the same thing

Do you know what might be happening?

Sometimes imports (creating a route from a ride is also a kind of import), need a bit of manual editing. In this case probably via point 2 is a bit misplaced. Try removing it (tap on it and then tap delete button in bubble that appears), or moving it a bit backwards.

Scenic is very sensitive to where via points are placed, even the side of the road can be important. Especially if a via point is on a junction this can sometimes lead to strange loops. There is always a bit of inaccuracy in GPS position so this can also happen for recorded rides. For Scenic 3 (next motorcycle season), I'm switching to a new map provider who is smarter / less sensitive about this.

I will play around with editing the route and looking at the link you provided.
