2020 BMW 1/250 GSA with WunderLinq, iphone 11 and Dena 50R

How do I set up the BMW so the Sena and iphone (which played nicely with each other on my 02 GSA) will interact properly with my 2020 GSA?

@idebide knowing you have a 1250 GSA too... is this something you can chime in on?

If you're enjoying Scenic and are happy with the support, please leave a nice rating in the App Store. It would mean a lot to me ❤️

I don’t have a Sena but I do have another Bluetooth system.   I paired the phone to the helmet headset first and then paired the phone to the Wunderlinq.

I do not pair to the bike at all since pairing to the Wunderlinq is like pairing to a GPS as far as the bike is concerned.

Once the phone is paired to the Wunderlinq the bike’s wonderwheel acts as a Bluetooth keyboard if you enable GPS control with a long up press of the bike’s information selector.

Remember to enable the Wunderlinq in Scenic’s settings.   I use a Scenic shortcut to start music by running an iOS shortcut that plays songs or a playlist.

Thanks for the response! It makes sense.
Does the TFT display not show the selected route etc?

I feel sure that, once I pick up the bike, this will make more sense.

No the bike is ignorant of maps except for the  “GPS” mount controls like zoom/mute.  There was some talk of CarPlay on the BMW bike but I wouldn’t hold my breath

The bike can pair with your phone/music/headset but with Scenic and Wunderlinq talking to the phone there is no advantage of pairing to the bike that I can see.      One could go either way on the music I suppose.

The Wunderlinq app is also something I don’t find useful as switching apps just complicates things, which is unhelpful while driving, and Scenic is the GPS.

Even though I don't have a BMW anymore, I know of one reason why some people like to connect their phone to the BMW TFT... and that's BMW's own "Connect" app. This is a kind of 'Scenic' app, but far less sophisticated obviously 🤪.

But it is the only app that can show navigation arrows (not the map) and text instructions on the BMW TFT at the moment. It also gets all kind of data from your bike (similar to the WunderLINQ app). Like speed, fuel range and that kind of stuff. With that information, and the GPS info from your phone, it can record your rides and navigate you.

Here's a very extensive video on how this should all connect with bluetooth and work together: https://youtu.be/LzPoILCj-aU In this video a Nav VI is used in stead of the WunderLINQ unit + WunderLINQ app + Scenic, but you'll get the point I guess.

If you're enjoying Scenic and are happy with the support, please leave a nice rating in the App Store. It would mean a lot to me ❤️

I will try things both ways and report back.
Thanks, gentlemen.
